Non abbastanza amore - Not enough love

Non bastò l'amore che ti diedi

a fermar il tuo passo veloce

verso lidi lontani.

Ora che il mio cuore

non sopporta siffatta distanza,

siedo, nel rimembrare cose lontane,

in quell'angolo a noi tanto caro,

in attesa che tu torni col tuo fardello

di nuove esperienze

che ti riempirono la vita.

It was not enough that the love I gave you

to stop your quick step

to distant shores.

Now that my heart

can not stand such a distance,

I sit, in remembrance distant things,

in that corner so dear to us,

waiting for you to return with your burden

of new experiences

that filled your life.
